SITXCCS010 – Provide Visitor Information

This part of the eBook supports the unit called “Provide visitor information” which relates to people working in a range of tourism, travel, hospitality, entertainment and cultural contexts. This short course focuses on a specific context of tour guiding in Kakadu. Students will develop skills related to accessing, updating, providing, gathering feedback on the provision of information as well as learning about Kakadu. Information in this part is set out as follows:

  1. Sourcing, gathering and sharing information
  2. Essential information for Kakadu guides to be familiar with, which includes information from:
    1. A visitor guide brochure
    2. The Kakadu National Park website
    3. Other Park information presented in a folder called “Park Notes”
    4. Guiding information presented in a folder called “Exploring the park”
    5. A list of risks presented in a folder called “recreational issues”
  3. Providing information in a culturally appropriate manner and gathering feedback, including information that aims to minimise the environmental impact of tours and meets regulatory requirements.
