There are penalties in place for persons who do not follow safety procedures for laboratories at CDU.

Students who are found to be non-compliant with the safety procedures outlined are at risk of exclusion from the laboratory and possibly subsequent laboratory sessions.  Such students may not be able to complete assessment items of the affected unit.

Staff, visitors and contractors who are found to be non-compliant with the safety procedures are at risk of exclusion from the laboratory. They may not be able to complete lab-based teaching or research activities.

Supervising staff members must report all breaches to the Dean of the College.  Serious breaches must be dealt with by the Complaints Management Unit under the University’s relevant student and staff related policies and procedures.
