Activity – PowerPoint 3: Create your own PowerPoint – Careers in IT

[This section should take you around 10 minutes to complete]

  1. Start a new PowerPoint presentation document.
  2. Click the File tab and select Save As to save the presentation as Your Name StudentNumber DigiPrep PowerPoint3 in the Documents folder on your computer.
  3. Create a presentation with the following slides:

Title slide: Careers in Information Technology

Type your name as the sub-title.

Slide 2 – Project Manager

  • Overseer of systems project
  • Liaise with senior managers
  • Manages teams of analysts and programmers
  • Responsibility for project budget and deadlines

Slide 3 – Systems Analyst

  • Analyse systems
  • Accommodate user requirements
  • Designs new systems
  • Software and Hardware
  • Implementation

Slide 4 –Webmaster

  • New and high demand
  • Design
  • Creating
  • Monitoring
  • Evaluating Web sites
  • Intranets and extranets
  • Technical skills with design

Slide 5 –Database Administrator

  • Structuring system
  • Co-ordinating
  • Linking
  • Maintaining internal databases
  • Selecting and maintaining external databases including Internet databases

 

4. Apply a theme of your choice.

5. Apply a transition to each slide.

6. Apply Animations to bullet points on all slides in the way that only one bullet point coming to slide each time you click the mouse.

7. Enhance your presentation with two images from the Internet (Use Creative Commons).

8. Attribute all the images on the slides.

9. Add another slide at the end, type References as the slide title and apply centre alignment to it.

11. Build a reference list on the slide for the images used in the presentation using CDU APA referencing style.

12. Save and close your presentation.

13. Upload the completed activity to your PRP003 folder on OneDrive.
