Project Proposal

14 Part 2

Assignment 2 is designed to measure the process of developing the project plan as well as the output (final report). Each week from week 6 through to 10 (inclusive) all students are required to submit a contribution to their project plan. Your first submission should have been submitted the week before last. The work that you submit may not be viewed by the teaching staff, but we will monitor and control (review samples of students’ submissions) in a fashion that is like what a project manager might do when auditing quality. The submissions do not need to be polished and completed pieces of work ready to be slotted directly into the final submission. They are meant to help the leader for that specific week with their submission.

Phase 3

Some of you may still be working on your schedules (as planned), other may be working on quality and risk (as planned). If you are working on quality and risk your objectives for this week are to:

1.      Quality Management:

  • 1. Describe how (the process) quality is planned.
  • 2. Define the specifications for the project’s products
  • 3. Determine who will be responsible
  • 4. Describe the quality assurance system you will use and explain how it differs from project assurance
  • 5. Explain how quality will be controlled in your project.

2.      Risk Management:

  • 1. Describe your group’s risk profile and explain why it is appropriate
  • 2. Identify at least ten risks in your project
  • 3. Perform qualitative risk analysis
  • 4. Plan the risk responses to threats
  • 5. Create a template risk register for the project.
  • 6. Explain how the risk register will be used throughout the life of the project
  • 7. Create a risk management plan that is informed by the risks you have identified, the analysis you have conducted (including a probability / impact matrix) and details why the project will respond to risks as planned (responses should be relative to your described risk profile). Also provide a risk budget.
